WHEREAS, in this Time of Danger, it is absolutely necessary that there should be a free and uninterrupted Intercourse, between the Seat of Government and the Army: These are therefore in His Majesty’s Name to require all Persons, to give all possible Dispatch and Assistance to the Messengers employed in that Service, by his Excellency General Braddock, (who by Way of Distinction wear a Badge, being a Copper Plate, on which a Greyhound is engraven) by furnishing them with Horses (which will be paid for) if they should have Occasion for them, and with such other Assistance as they may stand in Need of.
